The Northern Jarrah Forests are being destroyed by bauxite mining, which is now the leading cause of deforestation in the Southwest.
When these forests are mined they don’t come back, ever. We must act now to protect them for future generations.

Email the Minister to say no more exemptions!
The Environment Minister is about to revoke Alcoa’s exemption order that allows the company to keep clearing whilst under assessment.
This sounds great, but the reality is: he plans on issuing Alcoa with an updated order immediately. Alcoa will not stop clearing for even one day.
This is even after several suspected breaches of the exemption order have been reported in recent months, where Alcoa has mined close to black cockatoo nesting trees, and Alcoa being found guilty of clearing forest without federal permission for more than a decade.
Hundreds of hectares of precious forests are being destroyed every year whilst Alcoa is granted exemption after exemption and allowed to run reckless on the Darling Scarp. So, when is enough, enough?
It’s time that the government took some real action against Alcoa, instead of issuing yet another get out of jail free card.
